hashbox.dev provides free developer utility tools. By using this site, you agree to these terms.

Use of the tools

The tools on hashbox.dev are provided free of charge for personal and commercial use. You may use them for any lawful purpose. There are no usage limits, account requirements, or licence restrictions on the output of the tools.

No warranty

The tools are provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. While we make every effort to ensure accuracy, we do not guarantee that the tools will produce correct results in all cases. You are responsible for verifying the output of any tool before using it in a production environment, security-critical application, or any context where incorrect results could cause harm.

Specific disclaimers:

  • The cron expression explainer parses standard five-field cron syntax. It may not match the behaviour of non-standard implementations (Quartz, AWS EventBridge extended syntax, Spring).
  • The hash generator uses the Web Crypto API and produces standard outputs. MD5 and SHA-1 are provided for compatibility and checksum purposes — they should not be used for security applications.
  • The password generator uses cryptographically secure random number generation (crypto.getRandomValues), but the strength of a generated password depends on the settings you choose.
  • The JSON, SQL, XML, YAML, and CSS formatters process input locally. They do not validate semantic correctness — only syntactic structure.

Privacy

All tools run entirely in your browser. We do not collect, store, or transmit any data you enter into the tools. For full details, see our privacy policy.

Intellectual property

The content, design, and code of hashbox.dev are the property of its creator. The output of the tools (formatted JSON, generated UUIDs, hashed values, etc.) belongs to you — there are no restrictions on what you do with it.

Third-party content

Some pages include technical information, explanations, and reference material about open standards (cron syntax, HTTP status codes, MIME types, UUID specifications, etc.). This information is provided for educational purposes and is derived from publicly available specifications and documentation.

Availability

We aim to keep hashbox.dev available at all times but do not guarantee uptime. The site may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, deployment, or circumstances beyond our control.

Advertising

hashbox.dev may display advertisements to support the ongoing development and hosting of the site. Any advertising will be clearly distinguished from tool content and will not affect the functionality, accuracy, or privacy of the tools themselves.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted here with a new “last updated” date. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
